InstantWarn LLC was started in 2011 by Tom Wachs, a Meteorologist with nearly a decade of experience in local television news. Tom started InstantWarn after discovering that there was a need by businesses to get localized severe weather alerts to a large number of people. Tom has been a part of many tornado events over the years, from live on-air coverage, to storm chasing, to helping with food drives after the storm.
It was after these events that Tom noticed many businesses didn't have a plan of action for severe weather, or didn't have the means to disseminate information to a large number of people quickly (ie. employees in different parts of a business complex).
Working in the media, Tom also discovered that many television stations were struggling to find a mass weather alert distribution system for a fair price. These events helped form InstantWarn.
The goal of InstantWarn is to get the critical weather alerts to the public...and fast. Social Media, Email and Texting have changed the way we get information. 20 years ago, television, radio, outdoor warning sirens and weather radio were the only ways to get weather information. They are still some of the best sources of weather information available. However, the Internet and Social Media have quickly become a main source of information for many people. As a result, at InstantWarn, we feel that the more ways you can get weather information...the better, as long as the source is credible. At InstantWarn...we pride ourselves on providing Credible, Accurate and Fast Weather Information.
